Woodstock Tribute, Hole in the Wall

It's a SXSW final Sunday tradition to hold a tribute night to close out the festivities. This year, Paul Minor organized the Woodstock theme with a full force of local acts to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the festival. The evening featured Tommy Shannon, of Double Trouble, who actually played at Woodstock in 1969, with Johnny Winter. Amazing performances throughout the night. It was a great way to end a great SXSW week.

Saturday, SXSW 2009

I started my day with a film, Rip: A Remix Manifesto. It's a fantastic documentary about intellectual property and remixing digital content. I will definitely be talking about in class. Then, had planned to visit Rachael Ray party, but that's one popular gal. See the crowd and line to get in. I asked one guy near the front how long he had been waiting, and he said 2 1/2 hours. Wow!

Future Clouds and Radar played the TX Music Reader Appreciation Party.

This kid yodeled.

Now, off to South by San Jose. Neal and Bobby are influencing Flat Stanley. This is not the pic I will send to my friend's 7-year-old son.

Gary Louris of the JayHawks. Amazing Set. See video of Blue below.

Mary and Michael. Mary was one of my profs at UT, now a great friend.
