Well, I'm back in Austin, attending the International Symposium in Online Journalism at my alma mater The University of Texas at Austin. This symposium has been going on since 1999 and I have attended each one. It has grown to be a very informative and insightful event, with both professionals on panels and academics presenting research papers. Citizen journalism is a big focus this year.
And, it looks as though the conference has grown so much that next year, it will be moving to a bigger venue.
Robert Picard of the Shorenstein Center at Harvard is about to give the Keynote Address.

yeah, this year's symposium was definitely better than last, I felt I took away a lot.
I took pages of notes but haven't typed any of them up yet, I'll let you know if I do.
